Materials & Care

53% Merino wool, 38% nylon, 9% spandex.

Why not 100% Merino wool? We actually use a 90% wool blend for the majority of our sock. But we use a nylon reinforcement on the heel and toe for greater abrasion resistance and durability. Plus, we use additional Spandex in the shaft of the sock for compression (and to help our socks stay up for 14 hours straight).

So in the parts that really matter for sweat wicking and comfort (the shaft, the top of the foot, and the ankle) our socks are 89% wool. But at the heel and toe where your boots make the most impact on your socks, there's a much higher % of nylon so you don't get holes.

That's why we can offer a 10-year durability guarantee that a lot of people think is crazy.

Machine wash in warm water on gentle cycle with socks inside-out. Do not bleach. Tumble dry on low or hang dry. Do not dry clean.

I have purchased 14 pair so far. I keep 7 pair at home in CO, I wear them summer and winter and really enjoy dry comfortable feet. I keep the other 7 pair at work on the north slope in AK along with 2 pair of another brand heavier wool sock. My feet freeze in the other brand sock. I will be buying many more Camel City socks for gifts for family this year.
