The Ironside Merino wool we use is 35% better at wicking sweat when compared to polyester socks, which is what most “sweat wicking” brands use. Our high density knit will keep your feet from sweating in your boots.

Materials & Care

53% Merino wool, 38% nylon, 9% spandex.

Why not 100% Merino wool? We actually use a 90% wool blend for the majority of our sock. But we use a nylon reinforcement on the heel and toe for greater abrasion resistance and durability. Plus, we use additional Spandex in the shaft of the sock for compression (and to help our socks stay up for 14 hours straight).

So in the parts that really matter for sweat wicking and comfort (the shaft, the top of the foot, and the ankle) our socks are 89% wool. But at the heel and toe where your boots make the most impact on your socks, there's a much higher % of nylon so you don't get holes.

That's why we can offer a 10-year durability guarantee that a lot of people think is crazy.

Machine wash in warm water on gentle cycle with socks inside-out. Do not bleach. Tumble dry on low or hang dry. Do not dry clean.

Cushion Details

Heavy cushion in the toe and heel for steel toe boot comfort.
Full cushion through the calf, specifically designed for all day comfort with 6, 8, and 10 inch boots.
Light cushion through the metatarsal.
Light compression in the calf.

Thanks Will!!!! You have developed and made the best work socks ever!!! I bought these socks to add to my current CCM socks. I have all styles of your socks, and love each one for different time of year. From the ankle socks, to the OTC winter socks they all perform equally well - from 100 degrees in the summer to Zero in the winter - my feet stay comfortable.

I just recently bought several pair of socks from Camel City Mill. I saw an ad on my FB. I said “I give them a try because they are made in North Carolina, USA. I live in Northeast TN. I was looking for new socks as my old ones were dwindling. They were expensive even with the decrease in price the more you purchase but I liked the warranty. I’m a Paramedic so I have my boots on for 12 to 16 hrs at a time. So far they are comfortable and feel good in my boots. I have minimal sliding down of the leg.
